I slide the badge down HTs crack once a week.
Broadcom has some great network monitoring technology. Do you really think they can't track the location of the company laptop? Good luck with your stupid ideas.
I pooped in front of the badge reader as often as possible and this has worked wonders for mgmt not requiring me to badge in any more.
I live in apartment across the street from innovation drive campus. I have to take the dog for a walk at 6am. I badge in along the way… go back home, sleep to 10… wfh in my uw… boss doesn’t care. Doing it since 2019.
I took a page from credit card skimmers and 3D printed a cover that snaps onto the existing card reader. Inside, there’s a Raspberry PI Zero W and some other hardware that captures the badge and replays it to the reader.
At random times during the work day, it sends my badge data and unlocks the door for a few seconds.
we have a shared group of 5. We take turns and most of the time you only have to show up once a week. We still working on the schedule how to scan, because we don't want it to be obvious if for 4 months 5 ppl showing up at the same time. We have some routines, but still working on improvements.
Broadcom is just d u m b in tracking your attendance.
How about just showing up to work?
It's simple. Take turns with you colleagues.
Install a robot arm in the office to swipe your badge.
Sharpen the edge of your badge and use it to swipe off HT’s fingers. You only need to show up to do this 10 times and then it’s over.
pay some college kid to swipe in for you and study there for 8 hours
Drive to the office in the morning
Badge in before 9am
