Bridgestone layoffs in Tennessee: Tire company to close La Vergne plant, ending 700 jobs

Nashville-based Bridgestone Americas plans to shutter its La Vergne tire plant later this year, which will leave 700 people in Rutherford County without jobs. The U.S. arm of Japanese manufacturing giant Bridgestone Corporation explained the decision on Thursday as part of a plan to "optimize its business footprint" and strengthen competitiveness in the automotive parts industry.

This closing has been coming, and id like to thank everyone I have worked with that can look themselves in a mirror and honestly say that you have done a good job thank you for the 25 years I got. To everyone else including the ones that have been fired and somehow gotten your job back your welcome. If we hadn't done such a good job they would have closed the doors alot sooner.
