Thread regarding Kroger Co. layoffs

Now we are going to the office 4 days a week?!

What’s going on? Why are we now required to be in the office 4 days a week?

What will leadership do to help with this as it’s basically a demotion. We aren’t getting cost of living wages, the Fred Meyer office as no food or coffee options and the buildings are so old and uninspiring.

When are they going to realize that we know how much you were willing to spend on purchasing Albertsons and you aren’t spending any of that on making our office culture any better.

They‘ve designed their monitoring of us so intensely that if you open up your laptop on office days remotely your account gets locked.

If you're interviewing at Kroger, scroll down a bit on the main Kroger Layoff page and read the "Kroger Technology Restructuring" thread. The author (who is not me) nailed it with "Welp we just got our "every 3-year" layoff/restructuring announcement ..."
If you're looking for job security for more than three years, or a company that values employees for more than what they can squeeze out of them under a threat of layoff, you're looking at the wrong company.

Yes, it’s all of Kroger corporate. I’d stay away if I were you. Leadership is extremely toxic here as well.

Is this company wide? I have an interview at their corporate office and do not want to go in 5 days a week in Cincinnati. Traffic and drive time would not make any amount of money worth it.

I’ll die on this hill but I believe a major factor with RTO is people with multiple remote jobs, aka overemployment. Higher ups figured out people were doing this and are forcing everyone back in to the office so they can’t have more than one job. They can’t say that out loud because no one talks about overemployment.
