I don’t think that is a coincidence. The outage and lack of integration was a disaster and a black eye for us. Also, our work from home culture didn’t align with the work office one of the MN folks. It seems destined to fail from the beginning, so it’s just a matter of time before they eliminate the remainder.
Did anyone else find that all the jobs are going to India for GL29 and below? Seems that is a big play for Optum..

I understand the need to be able to point at something to blame when through no fault of their own good people are let go. One thing to consider dealing with CHC is they didn't have a breach in the past. It only occurred once they were acquired by Optum and were in the process of integrating. Perfect timing if you ask me to take advantage of the situation. The blame should still be primarily focused at upper management and their bad decisions. The CHC people were caught completely by surprise with the merger. Good ol' Neil de Crescenzo made the deal in secret and at the time there were only two other people at a company of 15,000 that were aware. Most CHC upper mgmt were shellshocked.
All this layoff happens because of cyberattack , we lost all clients, and they don’t trust UHC again, and jobs moving to other countries , india, bangladesh, phillipins, and ……
300 + Optum Rx employees laid off & 40 + from Optum Home Health... none of these areas have CHC employees.
My entire Division is from CHC & we work our A$$es off! Not sure what division you are in, but we've had Optum employess integrated into our CHC Division without any hiccups. What a lot of employees do not understand is that were merged with Optum because they wanted our Health Information Highway AKA "The Switch". This platform processes billions of transactions a day, regardless of insurance carrier. UHG/UHC wanted access to other payers pricing, plain & simple. This is whythe DOJ & AMA were so against the merger. Don't blame the CHC employees, blame UHG.
Too bad the couldn't fire Neil de Crescenzo a second time
A lot of the CHC workers are PT as well. No offense but 90% of the CHC workers and supervisors who joined my dept. are absolutely clueless and lazy. I’m not surprised.
There has been a policy in place since October 2022 in Optum Tech that no new reqs can be opened in the US for GL30 and above. No promotions to GL30 and above will be approved, and I know within my division of 280-something people, they only allowed 3 promotions to grade levels GL29 and below. Anyone you lose is either permanently lost or has to be backfilled with an offshore FTE or contractor, and if a contractor, only through Wipro or Cognizant. I'm not surprised they're now expanding to all GLs. They've run out of high cost resources to offshore.
If WFH was the issue, how is work from another country going to make it better or align with office culture in MN?
