For those that have been through this here or are in the know, when you get notified of your layoff, is it immediate or do they want you to work for an additional week, etc?

If you have time after notice and access to a printer, you “could” print things that may be of value. DO NOT EMAIL INFORMATION TO YOURSELF OR OTHERS - That is cause and they are already laying you off, so don’t jeopardize things by emailing anything outside the company.
Immediate. You may receive 30days healthcare coverage..and COBRA is EXPENSIVE!
It depends on your position and number of employees being laid off in your department. Sometimes a couple weeks, sometimes a couple months.
Last April, I was laid off on Thursday, told to take the day off, had a half-hour sign off meeting the next day and was told not to sign on for 3 weeks. Senior manager/director role.
seems everyone stops working once they get aquired by OPTUM. This is beyond frustrating to work in a city of people who have quietly quit or are working a second job with a company from India at the same time they should be working for Optum. Give me early release.
As the person below me stated..... You get 2 weeks additional time (pay). You don't have to work at all after notification, I suggest taking those two weeks to find a new position. The 'replacement' back into the company is quite worthless, so don't count on it. Just start looking immediately after notice.
I was given 2 weeks when I was laid off. Basically till the end of that month.
Don't worry it works out in the end. You do survive
not true i was in the July lay off and they gave us 2 months notice and opportunity to apply for positions within the organization.
Some will have a week or two to complete the transition. You meet with redeployment or discuss severance packages.
From what i understand vps/directors are given time to gracefully exit and save face, anyone else is locked and kicked out ASAP
