Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

Mortgage RTO

Anyone receive word yet on RTO in mortgage? (Before you give me some bullsh-t response that everyone’s coming back to the office, just don’t because that’s untrue. The FAQ clearly states some roles will remain remote. It’s on the Chase homepage)

Hoping no news is good news, they are waiting for the final hour to relay the info, at least in underwriting and some support roles.

Hopefully everyone got their answers today!

See you all in March, except the groups that are remaining WFH (I know of a few groups staying remote…for now at least)

Any hybrid schedules in Tempe at all?

Larger buildings such as McCoy in Columbus and NY locations need to run on hybrid work schedules.

Chase homepage is now updated with all locations and RTO date. This does not speak to roles but whether the site will be ready. Most are either March 3 or undetermined.

No updates about WM.
No new details from the townhall. Brief mention of a March 3rd date but no details of site or LOB impacts.

Keep us posted if you get any clarification in Plano!

How is plano btw? Worth moving to from the east coast?

I was told that our group would be getting an email about RTO today 1/29. I'm in Plano. I know that we have a capacity issue (short desk, short parking).

Anyone hear anything about Columbus?? 30 day notice seems like a decent amount of time for some but not for all, especially those who have kids being put on waitlists for daycare. Would like to know something ASAP.

There’s a global town hall at 1pm est today with home lending leadership. Curious if there will be any insight there. I have a feeling they will touch on it in general but will lack any details resulting in us not knowing any more than we know now.

Curious if it’s just UW allowed to stay remote if other areas in mortgage are score card eligible. Anyone have any news for Tempe?

So much maturity on here. Ultimately, everyone will be full time RTO - even UW.

Dum--ss? Get your own post. This was mine and it’s solely about full time remote and around underwriting type roles. Read the room. Enjoy the drive, a--hole.

Nothing official here either. I spoke with a few senior managers in mortgage underwriting and it sounds like some of these roles are remaining remote.

I thought we would have the communication of updates by now. They said by 1/31, right? Another day of waiting.

What’s the reasoning for the positions that are full time remote? Doesn’t make sense.

To clarify, I am speaking to full time remote, not hybrid. If you are hybrid now your chances are slim, but many groups are full time remote and have been so don’t get confused between hybrid return to office verse remote return to office.

FAQ did say at one point as part of the business strategy some roles that were scorecard eligible (meaning roles they can easily measure production and adherence) would remain remote. Since then that FAQ has been removed and there is only a simple blurb indicating that if your manager tells you to work remote then that’s what it is.

I think they tried transparency and then everyone went off their rocker. I get it but some roles were remote before Covid and never went hybrid. So those that complained were mainly in roles that had the temporary accommodation and not roles that are typically remote.

That said, another day without any communication. We are now 1 week from the deadline and I’m scared to even ask for an update. This information is vital to my family because we are making financial decisions that would be impacted by that change so we have to sit on our thumbs while the company holds it over our head all while giving no merit increases.

Who said only roles with scorecards will remain hybrid? LOL not true

by

It said only roles that are scorecard related will be reviewed to remain hybrid, so all others will be RTO

Another day passes with no update. Management is avoiding this discussion like the plague for my group.

I wasn't aware that we had mortgage uw in Delaware. does anyone have any more insight on the uws that were asked to come back to office in this site?

At my building, they don’t have capacity for everyone to be in at once. Curious how they will handle it. Praying we stay hybrid.

Thank you, yeah that’s all I know as well. I fully expect to be brought back in to office, however I’ve been remote since 2019 with no hybrid requirement. Hoping and praying but was curious if anyone had a leak of info since a lot of other lob’s have already received confirmation but there’s been no word in mortgage.
