I am tired of all these VPs and other DEI execs, consultants at Dell—mostly from India—that are nothing but word salad, empty suits, with no results, just a lot of buzzwords in every meeting and a-licking to keep their jobs. Why are they still para*izing the company?

Instead of talking about getting rid of DEI everyone just squabbled over who got the jobs lol - nice.
DEI was created to address the real problem of unqualified family members and buddies getting jobs over others who are qualified. Unfortunately there isn't anything you can do to keep incompetent people out of leadership positions. Objective criteria is rarely used when hiring execs.
DEI means well... however, what has happened over time is that it is not the BETTER candidate for the position that gets hired, it's the black, latino, woman, etc that gets hired JUST BECAUSE they are black, latino, woman, etc... and not because they are better than the preverbal "white male"... THAT is the problem. if it comes down to hiring a plain old white guy, and an Indian Woman... the plain old white guy has 25 years experience but the Indian woman has 2 years experience... that Indian Woman will get the job because it checks a box.... not because she is the best candidate for the position.
THAT is the major problem with DEI.... we've gone the wrong way around... at one point plain old white guys were getting all the jobs over women (just choosing one) regardless if that women would be a better fit... now we are choosing anyone OTHER THAN that plain old white guy for the job..... lets just get down and hire the best PERSON for the job, regardless of their race/creed/religion/s-x/etc....
Why not just focus on long term (20+) year directors who are simply paper pushers? Strutting around in designer fashion and counting their stock options while placating the masses and their bosses with keywords that keep them employed and sounding intelligent while floating up to the top over time "just because" without making meaningful contribution. There's enough of those in RR alone.
What happens if the white man is the most qualified. I live in Massachusetts and if you read the Boston Globe it's columnist think someone fitting the suit is better than hiring or electing the most qualified. Harvard wants to take admissions points away from white and Asian prospects do get a more diverse student body.
It seems the ethnic and gender mix at a company is more important than getting the right people on the job in government, academics, and business.
Didn't realize Chuck Whitten and Jeff Boudreau were DEI hires.
Yes, because white men are the default for everything. So obviously anyone who isn’t a white man is a DEI hire. Yes, some other countries and women do better in school and in leadership but white men deserve everything by default! Call 1-800-wawawa
Totally agree. We need more aging white men making all the decisions! Justice for Michael and Jeff!
