Is anyone else getting the boot on the 31st being asked to sign a reaffirmation that you won’t steal Shell IP? I was going to sign it already but my LM is being weirdly pushy about reminding me to do it.

You could argue that it’s a trade secret to just do the opposite of whatever it is that Shell does. Seems like an inverse Shell exploration strategy would be wildly successful
guys - don’t leak trade secrets about how we manage our 5 remaining assets
i’m sure exxon and chevron with their dozens of assets are clamoring for our cracked advice on exploration and production
LoL ...what IP.
managers are pestered by HR to confirm we have had the conversation with people leaving so that is likely what he is after.
They locked down the machines during reshape. I’m fully aware that working for a large corporation entails not stealing IP and they own everything you do while you’re there, it’s just weird being asked to sign something again now that’s no different than what I originally signed. Was just curious if anyone knew why.
why do you think they locked down the machines so hard?
no outside email
no ai
no usb ports
no bluetooth
Absolutely wasn’t going to steal IP to begin with and I cannot argue with you there haha
Not in your shoes. But compare what you signed when you were hired. The exit agreement should be a formality. Your LM is probably a fu--ing id--t who doesn't know sh-t except that he needs to paper your file before he can move on.
If the two agreements are different, talk to a lawyer. If you're giving up something new, you should be compensated. Regardless you don't have any right to steal IP.
