This guy was a terrible manager. He managed spending to arbitrary indicators as opposed to creatively focusing resources (people and money) where needed. The results speak for themselves. Intel TD lost to TSMC, and he was one of the leaders of Intel TD. No loss for the U.S.

TD failed because of poor management, not the intelligence or hard work of the employees. TD management turned the organization into a slow moving, bureaucratic mess that ki-led innovation in many ways - antiquated process control board system, micromanagement of change, arbitrary equipment monitors implemented by inexperienced PhD engineers, PhD engineers suffering at night after working 12 hour days doing work anybody with a B.S. in physics or chemistry could do, or even an AA in electronics, not feeding back learning for high volume manufacturing .... It was sad to see it happen.

Let's hope they realize how badly they failed and fundamentally rework how they manage that organization across all levels.

I have the sense he’s another example of wash, rinse, repeat. A compromised member of a compromised caste system. I’m sure he’ll care less about his terms of employ with Intel, beat his tiny chest, and spill the beans every chance he gets to self promote. This sh-t needs to stop

He is not a good leader. Intel TD did very badly when Peng was in office. Those are the years that TD is fully messed up, delaying 10nm, 7nm....

There is no 300 pieces of talent loss problem buried here. (When it’s silver it’s a Chinese proverb)

This is great for Intel and the semi industry. He was fired from Intel. He was a complete id--t and buffoon that did not have any people or leadership skills. They moved him around the company to roles where he could do minimal damage.

He’ll do much better with a Chinese firm knowing there are severe consequences with failure. Not like Intel where it’s enough to put in a 4 hour day from home
