I see more and more people leaving even when they don't have that much left until retirement. This is so strange to witness, considering that, until recently, Dell used to be the place where pretty much nobody would even consider leaving in a similar situation. How the times have changed...

When I was hired in 2009 (EMC) I thought I found my retirement path. The work was consistent and new products were being engineered. Watching Dell slowly squeeze us down to nothing has really changed my opinion. Like everybody else I will stay until my number gets called because its mindless work for decent pay, but I have not learned anything new in years and its becoming the dead end job I feared it would.
I plan on staying until I retire, although my retirement date just got accelerated!

I got hit a year before retirement and I was remote. Forced retirement. Best thing that ever happened to me!
