How did the hiring manager know you were “American”?
It's part of the interview process - they have to know if you are legal to work in America. Also, my camera was on - pretty obvious.

How did you you know the hiring manager was h1b?
His contact information was shared in the interview. Also h1b visa holders are by law, public record. - https://h1bdata.info/

  • Was it based on skin color?

No, it was based on the fact that I know him, the project, the team and his name. But nice try

We had a team in Duluth. The Hindi speakers refused to discuss the design in any other language. They all spoke English. For the non-Hindi speakers, they would do all they could do to drive the non-Hindi speaking employees out of the company. The manager was fine with this since he appeared to be following direction from above to move the work to India.

Nothing like landing an interview with a H1B Visa Manager then getting rejected because you are an American lol. What in the reverse racism is that when an American company has outsourced their management offshore and now they're discriminating against Americans so as to hire more "offshore" people. He took one look and didn't even bother turning on his camera once he saw I wasn't the "right" fit. He actually sounded annoyed he had to do the interview. He decided as soon as we started this wasn't going anywhere. Seeing they operate that way and have those kinds of people making racist judgement calls so openly - I'm glad I went somewhere else.

The new administration won’t be happy with all the outsourcing going on, hope Trump taxes them with tariffs for using foreign workers in the USA
