Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Postponing RTO for fully remote is a smart move

I don’t know if it’s intentional—meaning, if they are aware of all the drawbacks of a full RTO mandate. Based on evidence from other companies that implemented a 5-day RTO, it tends to turn into a costly disaster. It drives away talent, along with everyone else, brings nothing to the table in terms of performance, and is poorly managed—an overall foolish attrition policy. There must surely be smarter and more efficient ways to get rid of people for free if that’s the goal. And that is the goal.

I doubt they have enough space anymore to demand everyone in 5 days a week. Its already a challenge in some buildings
