I’m curious, who here feels they’re most likely immune to layoffs, whether due to experience, seniority, knowledge, connections, or something else? I know most people assume they’re not safe, but I’d love to hear from those who believe they are and their reasoning.

I saw the writing on the wall last year and did not feel safe so I left preemptively. Hard decision, but I didn't feel safe with my role in technology. I'm not the only one either. Unless you are on an understaffed, business critical team, you should feel vulnerable.
I remember these times (many of them) after the announcement of pending layoffs, you see how people respond. But truthfully, I can't blame them. Everyone then felt vunerable. When I was with Amoco, it was more predictable about the security of one's position. Not so with BP. In my situation, they rolled out the new organization chart and the boxes were blank. But they also included a description of the role. I saw that there were two roles (senior technology positions) there that matched my role and my colleague. But, you never feel safe until they tell you that your position has been secured. Sure enough, they told me that mine wasn't secure, and I left. My colleague did get one of those roles and they brought in a younger colleague from my group who had no background for the position. I wished him well. But as it turned out, he hated the role because he didn't know what to do. Eventually, they shuttled him to licensing where he was just a copier operator. It was demeaning and he resigned and left right away. He eventually started his own company and he's doing well today. Never let them tell you there's no age discrimination. I despised the LT because I can see how incompetent they were, but I missed my colleagues.
Of course it is not. At least in Castrol it's very clear in most functions other than Sales and marketing - if you survived this round of layoffs, you will be laid off in the next round, in a year or two. The is no job security anymore. the direction is very clear.
The p.ress is saying MA might be at risk the board is considering a 'change' candidate
Inner circle DEI candidates, married couples, unmarried couples, trans and luxury roles that don’t do anything are all safe.
The only people who should feel safe are MA and his friends.
