Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

All you can do is be prepared

None of us know what tomorrow will bring. All we can be certain is that there'll be more layoffs, but we can only guess when. There's no point in stressing over it. Make sure you're prepared in case it happens the best you can, and then simply continue doing your job. Constantly stressing is not good for your health.

Agreed. While its not a fast thing to do, financial security, well there’s nothing like it.
Pay down your credit cards, get them under control. Save every bonus and raise difference aside into your savings account. Build up your savings to have a year’s worth of salary in savings on the side that you NEVER touch. Its strictly layoff money.

This is something that’s done over the span of many years but I have admit, there’s nothing like the feeling of financial security like that should a layoff ever happen.

Also, skill up like a madman so that you are marketable.
Update your resume and any online profiles like LinkedIn.
Last but not least, network outside of Citi like a mother.

Good luck everybody.
