"I was threatened with if I told my coworkers it could impact my severance package." -- like they would not notice you're gone??

The feel of these layoffs, especially the threats for speaking about it, is very Broadcom reminiscent. Not a people place. Go figure, with that Tom Krause.
There will be layoffs all next year , new norm .
You'd be surprised how many of these corporate scare tactics have no teeth. Example: ever noticed the "Warranty void when removed" stickers on things? At least in the US, that is no longer legal. Hasn't been for quite a while. They can only void the warranty if they can PROVE that the customer caused the damage that they are making the warranty claim for. Same goes for most of the employment non-compete clauses (as long as you don't share corporate secrets, of course).
One doesn't wonder that because it's not possible. Chances are zero. You try it, and keep us updated.
One wonders how well these NDA "shut up to keep your package" threats really hold up in a courtroom...
Time to develop a secret communication code. If I get "the Teams invite" I will wear my jumper inside out.
I agree, threatening affected UK employees not to share with coworkers is deplorable. Shame on you Tom Krause -- and your gutless complicit cronies -- for trying to silence employees with nasty threats when you know those people are feeling vulnerable.
Hang tough UK team, your fellow employees in other Geos are saddened by your loss.
It feels like a chess game for me. Still not out of the game, but I know I need to watch my moves. I almost like the suspense, now that I have made peace with any outcome.
Just goes to show you what absolute pieces of s##t the Krause Krew consists of.
They have started in Europe now. I am in the UK region and was let go today. I was threatened with if I told my coworkers it could impact my severance package.
This isn't a death watch. :) Assume there can be layoffs any day, any week, for the next several weeks. They are nowhere near done.
Everything has been eerily calm so far where I am.
