I was recently offered a position at GA and when the offer came in - I thought GA was joking with me. The offer was so low there was no way I could take the offer seriously. I would have been taking a 30% decrease in salary and being asked to take on more responsibilities for the next pay grade. I do not understand why people state on Glassdoor the benefits and salary at GA are good. It makes me wonder about the workforce at GA… does anyone have any opinion on salary and knowledgeable workforce? I seriously cannot see why anyone would stay working at GA when compensation isn’t even competitive

Depends on how old those Glassdoor ratings are. When I worked there, they wanted to pull people from the other aerospace firms so they started paying people more and started offering higher salaries as a result. However, back in 2020 they laid off about 600 plus people (I believe) who were mostely higher paid people. Fortunately for me, I left GA a short time before all of that transpired. Apparently, they laid off the higher paid people in my department and shoved the work onto younger, lower paid workers. On my immediate team, this backfired big time as half of our team quit and found other jobs.
If you base work and benefits off a 40 hour work week you will be underpaid! The reality is more like a 25 hour work week with 10 hours of naps…. Then the pay is still underpaid but a lot more competitive
I got paid well into the 6 figures doing minimal work for most of the year. It was quite a gig.
Definitely agree with the comment that says GA pays well for the actual amount of hours people work.
For the actual amount of hours people work at GA the salary is competitive. No one works close to 40 hrs at GA…. And yes GA pays below industry average but there are people have worked at GA so long they have no idea what the real world pays …. Or scarier than that …. What the real world requires regular employees to work
what is your salary then? show me the numbers.
Disagree. GA salary is good and competitive. Plus you get a soli work life balance. It’s one of the more decent jobs out there if you get on the right team. Luckily, I was on a team that supported me during my time there.
