Thread regarding Apache Corp. layoffs

People still leaving

Lots of people are disappearing. All ages and titles. Many are just waiting until after Feb or hoping for a buyout. It’s quite a shame. If we sell much more we will only need 300 people in Houston.

Hopefully these departures from the accounting group make room for people who actually know how to account

2 revenue accounting managers leave soon. Terrible for morale as they are the most liked and most experienced.

Even when Apache seemed to have a direction, they were a stop-start-stop-start again train wreck. The planning group never had a plan, new venture never had a venture (Suri was an accident), facilities could never agree on how to design, HR would never fire the worst of the worst, and HSE is now run my diversity hire VP and team of clueless hapless fools.

Many would say that it’s the Houston workforce that have created all the problems that employees worldwide are having to weather.

No company is stupid enough for an Apache buyout. The only smart move is to buy assets, without having to pay off all the dead weight from HR and IT before laying them off.

I'm in EHS and will absolutely be handing in my resignation as soon as my bonus lands in my bank account. I've talked to a few others and they're talking about doing it as a group on the same day! LOL.

Future state will be a company comprised only of the Planning, HR, and IT departments, and VPs and Directors. They will all remain incredibly busy formulating, re-formulating, and re-re-formulating plan, continuously re-organizing themselves, and circle jking each other.

And most of the 300 will be VPs or planning.
