Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

How utterly disingenuous!

So I see a post on LinkedIn from a certain qcom VP on "what a great honor" it was to host stem/advantage students to qcom labs. The gall of qcom making US students think they too may have a career a qcom if they pursue a stems degree. Yah, right! Like the only out-of-school-engineers qcom will hire is one that has a masters degree in one hand and a H1B in the other or one in India. What gall to spew Bee. S. PR like that. How utterly disingenuous!

It's almost like racism is at its core actually a class issue.

OP is so close, so very very close to actual understanding.

Some of y'all are too stupid to even realize you are the stupid. Qualcomm hired you as engineer and some of y'all think you are too smart and management doesn’t know what they doing with the company. If y'all were that smart, you wouldn’t be out here speaking behind the screen hating but leading things to success somewhere somehow. Guess it’s the reason they offshore your job coz you are too busy with politics than doing you f job

Especially bad when the company won’t even hire those students that actually worked for the company - its interns - for fulltime roles. There were hundreds working in San Diego and across the US this summer and a very, very small (guessing maybe 10% from what colleagues have told me) were given return offers. It’s truly sad and beyond pitiful, a waste of resources and deflating for managers and their interns.

LinkedIn is a blue-pilled, virtue-signalling garbage platform.

"Why my offspring work in the medical field instead."
wait, you don't think that 'they' won't bring in foreign doctors as well
forget the fact that the US healthcare system is a cluster bleep
there is a reason why that United Healthcare CEO 'laid off without benefits'

Forget stem. Teach kabdas (kiss a-s, bow down, and smile). Worked for little eggroll VPs.

Octavio may mean well after all if anyone is a member of the chosen few he is. SO very many talented career engineers let go by the Q that SD may never be the same. We had a good run but for sure all over now for USA based engineering talent. Why my offspring work in the medical field instead.

It's possible the stem students are HB1 anchor babies.
