Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

$hittybank guy is in rare form.

I check this site out a couple of times per week to see what’s the happenings.
$hittybank guy seems to post hourly. Don’t get me wrong, Citi could be a whole lot better with such little effort and I’ll be the first to acknowledge that there are some really bad managers at Citi. I don’t however let it absorb my whole life. I feel sorry for him. In my mind he posts, refreshes the page every 15 min to see who responds. If no one says anything, he throws out more flames and ramps up the usage of “ $hittybank” in order to bait a response.

While I’m out watching a movie, shopping or going to the gym, he’s refreshing the page time and time again looking for someone to respond. If no one does, his anxiety heightens to new levels as the attempts to solicit an argument doesn’t always work. He’ll get so over the top, again wedging in “ $hittybank“ as much as possible until he does get a response and THAT…..is when he gets his endorphin fix.

Is Citi, perfect, h@ll no it isn’t, I’ll never say that, but recognize you’re allowing it to consume your life. You’ve done an excellent job on making sure that everyone who checks this sight knows how you feel and that if they don’t feel exactly the way you do, then they are also worthless as you drive forward with your Citi cancel culture endeavors.
So, yes, you’re ahead of the game but its eating away at you like a cancer. Surely on some level you can see that.

Do yourself a favor, take a break, go see a movie, put off the posts for a week or so, who knows you might like it.

$hittybank guy is a plant by Citi. He’s hired by Citi to plague this board. The goal for him is to hijack all posts so that it deters anyone else from sharing any knowledge or insight so that they remain silent.

This poor guy is still churning along. No value just rhetoric. He needs help. Citi has broken him so bad that his obsession has no bounds. They either let him go or jilted him on a promotion. He’s probably one of those guys who gave Citi his all, everything that he had and they messed him over. So he comes here to vent.

$hittibank needs help. He’s been jilted by the company and they are living in his head rent free. They really did a number on him. You can tell by his posts that by his obsession the company is heavily ingrained in his mind. Its poisoning his soul, making him very bitter.

and there he is again dominating and hijacking all posts in an order to shut them down. Once he subsides, you can post and get a few days in on responses until he starts up again for his attention fix.

Recently I’ve only read him referencing $hittybank about 3 times instead of 3 times per sentence. I take some self reflection on maturity is ongoing thus he remains somewhat silent. At least the post hijacking is somewhat subsided by him.

Leave $hittybank guy alone. There’s a lot of pain there he’s dealing with it seems, let him work through it.

You say there’s a lot of other toxic stuff going on, yes, true and $hittybank just adds to the pile of it. Wedge it in man….you’ve gone 6 times in one sentence, try for 7. Kick it up a notch, take it to the next level. Go for 7 times, it really seals the deal. I really don’t listen or continue on reading until I see the $hittybank reference. It makes me really hon in on it.

You all do know this was a post just to distract and try to discredit others. The person does have some good information sometime just like others. Devoting a whole thread to this is really sad and kind of extra mean IMO. We already have enough toxic stuff going on at the company.

Shittybank guy, if you are Citi employee, quit and find another job. If you are not Citi employee, go have some life although you were fired by Citi for bad performance. Life goes on, do something meaningful other than whinnining here about a company nothing you can do about it.

Its how he gets his endorphin kick. “Me….me…look at me…I’m important too…”, like a child needing their attention fix.

I know its been alluded to, but seriously the guy needs some counseling. If you let a company wear you down so much that you are obsessed with making sure to hijack as many threads as you can so you can make sure you use that phrasing as much as you can. If this is your measure of making a difference or getting even, you need some help. There’s no way to prove it but I doubt very seriously if he can go one week without making a layoff post. He checks and refreshes this site hourly is my bet. He needs some help. He’s like inches away from being considered postal.

Belfast guy at least started his own threads which were quickly voted down and died. $hittyGuy hijacks others' legitimate threads like a kid fa----g at the grown-up table during Thanksgiving dinner.

At least the $hittybank guy posts information and details. The Belfast guy responds to or starts new threads with zero details like, "Belfast Layoffs this week", "Layoffs coming to Belfast", "Layoffs coming soon to Belfast", "Belfast layoffs next month", and variations of the same sentences.
I haven't seen the Belfast guy in a while though. Maybe he got a new hobby. LOL

I first heard the phrase 'Citibank, you turned out to be a '$hittybank' to the tune of 'Yesterday' at least 10 years ago at a comedy show in Austin TX. Stayed in the mind so much that when I see a Citibank sign, I immediately translate it. I chuckle every time I see it on this site.

meh. He’s hoping it’ll turn into a catchphrase used by everyone. In his mind, its his way of self confirmation that “he’s made a difference” when in fact like its already been said, its rather sad. Seriously….that’s all you’ve got? That’s all you can do?

The best revenge is living well. If you really want to teach Citi a lesson, skill up, interview and work somewhere else making more money. Let some other company benefit from your mad skills. This is the best revenge.

@dp+1jhxmrhjy It’s not a memorable “catchphrase”, it’s rather an disgusting 🤮 “rant phrase”

I love my nephews but when the adults are talking, sometimes they need to be told to go and play or remain quiet.

The same rings true with $hittyguy. He often distracts from the core topic of discussion. Making sure that $hittybank is mentioned at least once in every sentence is not impressing anyone. I feel that he’s using this as more of a venting venue rather than a discussion. Maybe twitter or reddit would better suit his needs for his therapy rantings. He’d better service the community on this board to, like my nephews, either remain quiet or go somewhere else and play.

Why is everyone ganging up on the $hittybank guy? He has a point and he has succeeded in making $hittybank a memorable catchphrase. No thread is complete without him chiming in.

$hittyGuy's posts are so repetitive and devoid of any new content whatsoever. The same blather regardless of the subject of the thread. Whatever the subject is, it gets watered down and obfuscated when he hijacks a thread. He also tries to drive off others who may want to legitimately participate here, and I just can't respect that. Make your point but don't tell others they're not allowed here based on your one person interpretation of how this site that you don't own is supposed to work and who is allowed or not allowed to be here.

“That” phrase guy/female is boring. When seeing “that” word I feel nauseous and I avoid reading his/her comments. And I also noticed that person keeps liking his/her own comments for higher thumps up.

You don’t win people over for you cause by seeing how many times you can fit in the word $hittybank in a paragraph.

I wonder how that guy thinks that conversation plays out in people’s heads.
“You know this $hittybank guy has a point. I didn’t see it at first until he used the word $hittybank six times in one sentence. It was that fourth and fifth time that I really started seeing things his way and on that sixth time, I was on board. Come on guys let’s go storm the castle”.

Its really the opposite way. When he starts blathering and sounding like a five year old saying “I know you are but what am I” over and over again, that’s how people look at him. Like a five year old. If he’s doing it to vent, then his obsession with it really points out that in short, Citi has won. He let them get so far under his skin, that he devotes a constant refresh of the page to see how many thumbs up or down he gets. It’s sad and the guy needs some help. I hope he gets it as he’s really not winning over anyone. Just air your complaint or concern, come across with some fact or a perspective point of view. Articulate fairly well and place the blathering aside and here’s the most importing part. You “move on”, you “let it go” and progress onward. Big boy pants….they are there, I just know they are. Find them, put them on and move forward.

There are multiple people, posting with the $hittybank phrases on this site. It is not just one person who uses those words. You would have noticed that the writing style varies for many of the $hittybank posts.

I actually come and check this site once a week and in that time I get to binge read all the postsand replies. You come on here as many times as he does and practically postbfor post have a rebuttal. How about the amount of life you've spent patrolling his posts? Fair or not, he's got a gripe and no other channel to air it out except here. What is it to you exactly? You think others are on a site called "the layoff" because they're looking for good news here?

You should think about getting your own life.

I get it he was a low performer tossed to the side and might be having difficulty finding a new role. I wish hi/her well in that regard, but spending time here drowning on about sh---y bank isn’t helpful.

I do take a little pleasure in reminding him that for some of us we like our jobs and compensation. I am all about work life balance and I ‘ve got it here.

Also delighted with my 3/3 rating and gotta chuckle at the 2/2’s who got the same raise and bonus, they lost hours and hours that they’ll never get back.
