It's been a while since I left BPX. Sometimes I come here to see how it's going for those who have stayed. I see a lot of lies or sensationalism on this site but sometimes I see a lot of truth being shared here. Its sad.
When I look at the news this week it brings me peace knowing I made a good decision to leave. I'm thriving at a larger firm with a better outlook and a better work environment. Despite their success, the leaders are humble and are well thought of.
When I see the news it makes me sad but brings me joy at the same time knowing that the truth is starting to come out. The bp culture has perpetuated bad decisions from entitled and overpromoted je-ks (exluding a few good leaders I know). I know some good people who are fleeced by golden cuffs who will leave first chance they get. I was one of the first to leave before the massive exodus over the last few years.Thankfully, I never allowed you to trap me financially.
To see that bp is worth less than half of its next competitor, today, shows just how far it's fallen. It's sad and the leaders scoff and mock people as they leave while the leaders slurp at the troughs gobbling up what is left of this place.
If you work at bp or bpx and feel discouraged do not lose heart. There are many other amazing options waiting for you out here. This excludes the entitled nepotistical arrogant fraternity chick's and guys running the mean girl's show over at bpx and all their buddies from OKC and Sandridge. You know who you are and the people you've scattered to the winds across the industry do too.
Many of us tried to tell you. You were too arrogant to listen and now the media and financial markets are telling the truth. Words mumble but numbers scream.
Your best bet is to humble yourselves, roll your selves up, and work to repair your image. Your reputation has permeated board rooms of private equity firms, banks, other E&Ps, and smaller cap companies. Its been interesting to watch as I've worked to keep a good line of sight across the industry. I've personally witnessed major investors and competitors laugh as you guys were mentioned as potential buyers to approach during divestments activities.
I don't like to see bp doing so bad and something big needs to happen to wake this place up. You have lost some of the best minds in our industry and those same people are now working against you for your competitors and the numbers will continue to stack against you until you address the issues.
What is going on with pentioners by the way? You guys cannot post one thing on social media without those people cooking you. I don't see any other oil major getting roasted like bp online.
Hire a beefy PR firm and start the climb back up the mountain because you have fallen oh so far and you act like you don't care. You have to clean up from the inside too. PR firms can only do so much.
