After Looney Tunes was fired for sleeping with numerous female staff, the board looked externally for a CEO. However, Helge was so into his Green strategy that he told all potential external CEO candidates (and there were some great ones) that they would have to maintain bp’s current strategy. Therefore, no competent candidates would take the role.
Now, Murtard is announcing a ‘new’ strategy. Anyone think GC has come up with anything more than firing high-paid talent, moving jobs to India and moving slightly back towards the money-making core business of oil & gas?
Helge and the entire executive team need to GO! That would accelerate the ultimate solution which will be a takeover by Shell — hopefully that will happen before bp is bankrupt.
