The messy middle is a false hope created by the CEO to keep the rest of the staff from quitting while they continue to sell off assets.

What's the messy middle? Former employee hear and I'm curious. One of the happiest day of my life was getting my package and laid off. Never looked back. Terrible place to work when I left.

The Bose pro sale was bad- as I imagine Consumer products and pro have a fair amount of intersect- it seems like loud speakers are a thing, outdoor, enviromental, etc are all in demand for whole home. So having one division making products that can be mass produced and sold for great margin is odd, but hey at ECO2 has a healthy line of 3 products to compete against Sonos.

What I don't get is why Lila had sold Bose Professional in 2022 which is growing and continues to expand their product line. Friends there tell me the new design center in Hopkinton MA is amazing. Check out the return of the Iconic 802 and 402 speakers! I agree the messy middle isn't a real thing. it's just poor management.
Those are private shares. Bose is not public traded. Dr Bose gave 60% Private shares to MIT. The only way for MIT to get rid of that is buy them out. Which is preventing them from liquidating the company.
On logical 2 scenarios remain. Lila does a hostel take over to get the shares from MIT. Or Bose get sold to out and the name remains but as a subistary of another compan. MIT still get from the who ever uses the Bose name.
As far as the stores go. Lila shut them down in 2020 before the pandemic hit. 2024 all the distribution centers are now being run by DHL. Repair and remanufacturing are now done by Reconext in Mexicali, Mexico Via Calexico, California. The only thing Bose has left is The Mountain, automotive and aviation. Everything else has been out sources to China and Malaysia. Welcome to that last years of Bose. The only people that are left are the one drank the cool aid and think Lila is great and she is going to save the compan. Basically all the yes people and a-s kissers and the rest are mushrooms. Keep them in the dark and feed them cr-p.

I still can’t decide who is actually running/ruining the ship. It’s either the remaining stock holders or MIT. MIT is supposed to stay out of day to day business decisions but is draining the coffers considered that? The remaining stock holders are likely wanting to cash out as fast as possible while the brand name still holds value…mostly longtime customers and ex employee
Bose Echo 1( sound touch app) and Echo 2(music app). Then there is just Bluetooth connection. All the newest products are echo 2. The last echo 1 was 300 sound bar.
Sound link home is just a bluetooth speaker. Sound bar 900 and ultra are over priced pieces of cr-p. Software issues. Software up date bricking the Sound bar. Then there was problem with 2 of the chips on the power board due supply issues. If the power board has the replacement chip techs have to switch connection on the center speaker. Software takes 20 minutes to update. If the customer unplugs the sound bar they have to send it to Mexico for repair. Via Calexico, California. Bardine or the 650 home theater lasted maybe a year before it was discontinued because of the issues with it.
Lila said Bose needs to make fewer products with better quality. Yet the quantity has decreased but quality is down. The wow factor is loosing its luster.
I still don't quite understand what the App starategy is- I see this interesting speaker called the SoundLink home which oddly enough doesn't work on any Bose app? It also appears that the Home Speaker 500 was discontinued too- man what a shame! But man they are phoning it in with these apps- no features, music services, etc.

You don't want to project anything that could be me considered toxic or offensive. Make sure you to use proper pronouns. Mean while your bass box 700 is popping and tge only fix is to have a wired connection. The complaints of the products is why Lyla shut down the community page on Bose's website. Software ware su-ks, the apps su-k. All the engineering and manufacturing is in China. Except for auto motive and aviation. The only thing left is the mountain but a bunch of corporate pa----s who don't want to come back to the office. Maybe if you talk to the Chief People Officer you get a lecture in DEI and leveraging of company assets. While exploring a diverse market. Bose as company is done.

This is very true. Most likely the Messy Middle is just a distraction to keep their small number of employees from leaving. Honestly most of the good ones are long gone.

Just look at the quality of VPs, Directors, Chief of Staff, that report into the C Suite. They would not be at that level in a normal healthy company and most would be individual contributors. This false hope story is just there to glide the company until it is dissolved.
