Just saw a post on linkedin from the strategy director about how she is ‘empowering women in leadership’ roles. What a load of cr-p - she and other senior leaders did none of that during the recent restructuring. It was all self interest - there was no empowerment of others especially women.

All the dei stuff is whats sinking companies. Focus on merit and performance not your race and gender. No one owes you anything, nor do they owe certain races or genders any advantage or preference or quotas. Stop making excuses, look in the mirror and get after it.
I find this post to be incredibly sad. I have seen senior female leaders fight tirelessly for the other women in the company for years. What I find most disturbing about this layoff is that after hearing this summer “people would be evaluated on their performance” the data points I’ve gotten about how these layoffs were executed don’t support that at all. It isn’t a supportive culture toward women or really any sort of inclusive culture, and many of the comments here of past employees clearly reflect that. Why are we going after women for not supporting women? It’s been known for a long time that there is a problem with women’s empowerment at cargill and it isn’t a result of the (very few) women in leadership positions. The photo of the new Food business leaders was obviously lacking any sort of diversity of any kind, abysmal if you’re trying to achieve results in the changing world of 2025. Feel free to go after the cultural issues of the company but please don’t go after the very few women trying to lead Cargill into a more inclusive future.
Incredible how misogynistic these comments are in an environment where multiple people were targeted during layoffs. Be better.
Why do women need to be empowered by others? This belief that women need more support is actually offensive to women.
Zero empowerment in my area too. They purposely keep folks in silos to empower themselves. This company needs to go or sort it’s leadership quality
