A secured and guarenteed US supply chain to hardware production and eventual software enablement makes a complete picture. It will take a massive effort to pull it off, Musk will be only one of the few with resources and ambition who can do so.
I don't know why everyone is so happy about Intel potentially being sold. For one, it is the ultimate indication of absolute defeat for all of the work you have done. Second, the majority of employees will probably lose their jobs by the end of the year with a huge portion of that happening before summer. You can also forget about generous severance. It will be the minimum required by law. This isn't a great job market to be entering. With recent Intel employment on your resume you can expect low ball offers if any at all.
