My dad worked there for my entire existence. Like, before I was conceived. I'm currently 23. Today, the layoff blindsided him. Just wanted to ask if anyone else was in this round of layoffs?

Most laid off people in my vicinity were in their 20s
This round of layoffs worldwide focused a lot on 45+ year olds.
It is a shame to hear that. Lately NXP is having 2 or more lay offs in a single year. Some groups are reduced to less than half the quantity of people that were there 2 years ago. And they keep reducing each year 5 or 10%. Avoid NXP in the US, they brag about being a great place to work, but honestly who wants to be at a company famous for laying off people so frequently
Unfortunate to hear this. NXP had retirement options offered and now reduction. What location were you at?
I saw some layoff had been announced last week in India and California.
In which country / activity was him working ?
Is it a single layoff or his whole team had been cut ?
First job out of college, spent a couple of years at NXP and just got laid off as well. No exact reason stated and rather informed I just happened to be the one whose the head the dice roll ended up on.
Funny considering top management constantly mentioning how they want to rejuvenate the firm with more younger talent.
