Just saw this in the news and I feel for you all. I did 20 years and left in 2018. While I make 1/3 of what I was when I left I’ve never looked back. Less stress, no constant layoffs. If you are let go I urge you to consider options outside this industry. Leaving was the best career decision I ever made.

Praying this is when they finally drain the company of nepotistic, backstabbing power couples. Cheerio
You mean you don't miss the drama, back-stabbing, lying at bp?
I share your views. When I look at the news today about BP, I have nothing but gratitude that I'm no longer with them. John Brown's influence on the company culture made working there no longer enjoyable. Every year, you had to look for the threat of layoff if the company missed its performance target in one quarter. It was pathetic because each time they claim they have the "perfect" structure and it would put the train back on the rail, it would involve drastic reorganization and layoffs. The remaining organization would have to work 2X as hard to make up for the missing workforce and then we would be in constant training to adopt a new structure. My heart goes out to the current employees.
