I got the double whammy, ageism and chose remote because I am more than an hour away from a Dell facility. Glad I am out.

Now what I don't know is how much time they are giving those who are classified as Remote to comply.

They already gave you 6 momths to adjust.
My senior director told our team to choose hybrid and no more remote after mass layoff last year.
We knew the axs would come to you if you kept chooseing remote after 8/2024.

Same here - I'm in a part of sales support and my manager told us before the holidays to expect RTO 5 days a week come Feb. Not sure what orgs are excluded but for us it's old news. Our team members have been figuring out vehicle and childcare and getting ready.

Without trying to out anyone here, but what orgs are you guys in that are getting these comms?

So some say if you are remote and an hour away then you stay remote, others say remotes will have to relocate. Which is it ? I doubt Dell will try force people relocate, that would be very bad for PR

Communicated to our team that hybrid requirements will change to 5 day in office across the board- nothing communicated regarding any changes to remote employees. No official communication email just yet but appears managers are beginning to inform teams of upcoming expectations changes no ETA received of when changes to commence.

I will also add in my staff meeting my manager confirmed a very large layoff happening first week of Feb.

My manager told me in confidence but no details or specifics other than just comms were coming soon and folks were not going to be happy. The decision was made awhile back and communicated at offsites to the M10/M11. The M8/9 weren't even told at first.

This is a BIG change and VP's don't want to be the ones who let the Cat Out of The Bag. Everyone is waiting on their specific org "blessed" comms.

I just had my staff and was told if you’re remote and over an hour away from an office they’re not forcing us to go back.

But can confirm they did tell the hybrid folks they must go in 5 days a week now.

A lot of these posts the past few days…but short on details. You gotta give us a bit more. Where did you get confirmation? What org are you in? What job level? One person yesterday says they heard it in a town hall but didn’t specify what town hall it was. Hard to take seriously when it’s so generic.

Yes, very sad to say, I too am confirming what others have said. Now what I don't know is how much time they are giving those who are classified as Remote to comply. And if those needing relocation will have a longer period to adjust. Or if severance is impacted on this that do leave.
