My wife’s brother-in-law’s sister friend works closely with whitehouse staff. She has indicated that Trump will be willing to drop tariffs on oil and gas in exchange for a deal similar to Ukraine. He is requesting 60% of our natural resources for America use in exchange for dropping any tariffs.

The Trump whitehouse fully supports a Daniel Smith and Pierre Polievere government as their principles are aligned. Pierre is on side as to supporting Trump before the election and has repeatedly stated “Canada is broken”. These are people the whitehouse can work with.

We will likely see any support roles that are “desk jobs” from project management, operations, logistics, finance, HR, and technology move below the 49th unless as the whitehouse has said “governor Polievere agrees to Canada becoming the 51st state”. If you don’t have a field job be ready in the coming months for these roles to move.

You can already see our premier is moving jobs to the private sector in healthcare etc. This is just the start of changing our province to be ready to be part of the USA. I’m seriously worried about my own job and that of my family.

We are considering moving to BC, Ontario or Atlantic Canada. Montreal might be an option but mostly West Mount or Pointe Claire (English areas) as our French isn’t that great.

About time we starting slapping Canadians for their bad behavior towards us … I agree and applaud our governments plan to annex Canada. They stole those resources from us 100’s of years ago

Pierre Polievere has it right “axe the tax”. We need to ensure that fossil fuels are used for as long as possible for the survival of Alberta.

Ms. Smith and Polievere are the only ones standing up for our oil and gas industry. Without it our future is in bad shape.

The other posts are correct. Climate change might be real but for the sake of Alberta we should be able to drill and mine our resources as long as other oil producing countries. We should also be able to use the resources as long as possible.

What proof do the lefties have about climate change? They tried to control us with the pandemic mandates. This all needs to stop now. Why are we complaining about Daniel Smith and the UCP? No matter what Alberta will only elect a conservative government. Federally we only elect a conservative government. We need a government that does not believe in the reality of climate change for the future of Alberta. We must do all in our power to show climate change is fake.

We need to do our best to stop the tariff of Alberta products.

Totally agree stuff will happen under Trump. Alberta will be spared most of the hit. We have always voted provincially (except that one time) and federally conservative. Trump realises that Alberta should not be punished with the mess with the rest of Canada. We may initially have a 10% tariff on our products but this will be lowered.

Our premier actually has the pulse of what is going on. The “buck a beer” premier is too busy calling an election to cover up the hundreds of scandals he has caused.

Alberta will hopefully not feel much. It will be up to Alberta to generate money for equalization payments to the rest of Canada.

Alberta is a conservative province. We made the mistake once of electing an NDP government not anymore. Only a conservative government provincially, federally and yes even locally can help save us.

We Alberta are in a lot better position than the rest of Canada. Our great premier has been able to get the tariffs lowered on oil and gas to 10% from 25%. As we all know energy is the most important export for Canada. Although it is a hit, it won’t be as bad compared to the rest of the country. As you guessed it Quebec will be first in line for transfer payments from equalization, followed by Ontario and Atlantic Canada.

Our natural resources are key to the Alberta economy and Canada for that matter. Ms Smith is truly sticking up for Alberta. I don’t believe we will see any layoffs as oil and gas are sold at a discount to the USA. Hopefully we can get all the tariffs removed on oil and gas products from the greatest province in Canada.
