Why happened? I’m surprised that Q couldn't retain such a talented leader

He’s been chairing in 3PPP for ages and his position was going to end in March. There was already a chatter what he’s going to do next. Apple is ramping up a lot in 3GPP by hiring key people from across the industry. They offered a 3GPP lead position to him, no reason for him to decline given that this role is already taken at Qualcomm.
As peons jobs are moving to India, local talent is feeling threatened for their position and decide to go greener pastures and for more money
"Yeah Qualcomm's invention has been the diarrhea curries and ne--o looking low life/low class Indians brought to US stinking like sh-t. Just fu-k off!"
parasitic skillless billionares like Felon Musk and RamiSwampy bring them in to lower and control labor costs to give boosts to the share price
let me stress it is for IMMEDIATE gain not for the long term health of the company which won't be able to produce anything new afterwards, it's a fire sale
QCOM is becoming a computing company. Right or wrong communication is going to take the back seat for a while. The layoffs in those teams reflect that. They are hiring microprocessor people for servers and a lot of them. Pretty sure they pay those guys very well.
"Apple hasn't had a 'new' product since mankind invented/discovered the wheel."

Q isn’t the only game in town anymore.
Apple hasn't had a 'new' product since mankind invented/discovered the wheel.
The vast majority of the stale long-timer upper management (director and above) at QCOM are 'circling their wagons' in an attempt to survive the coming economic slowdown/crisis. Good luck!
Qcom is starting to see the ill effects of the continuous layoff cycles. Top tier talent do not want to work on a losing team. Competitors know this and it is easy to lure them away, more money, stock, optimistic company outlook, etc. No one wants to be a great QB on a losing team. Besides that, qcom is showing that they do not care about the psychical, emotional and mental heath of their employees. Waiting for the next shoe to drop is extremely stressful-- tantamount to torturous conditions. You reap what you sow, qcom!
The brain drain out of Q has started
Maybe in this new job, he’ll make more than CA. It might still be a steal for Apple considering the annual billions paid to Q.
They made him an offer he couldn’t refuse
This guy is a 5/6G beast! I don't think it's not just the money that made him leave. Q investments in modem is in a steep decline, while Apple is ramping up, makes sense to sail downwind!
He seemed loyal. He is company CCI. Maybe someone wants to avoid the accountability of letting him go to our major competitor by using the “money talks” excuse.
Money talks to attract world top talent
Do you think calling it a fruit instead of just saying Apple makes you sound cool? mo--n..
This guy is special. Look at this top prolific patent holders list: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_prolific_inventors#Prolific_Inventors
Apple had none but Qualcomm had a bunch. I bet he is one of the few in the world who will know how to fix Apple modems.
