Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Has the next round of layoffs started yet?

Heard next round is starting end of this week? Current theme is partner led services, does that mean PSOs will be impacted more this round as well as sales folks?

Aren't H1b a temp work visa? How are people who came here in 1970 still here?

I am going to a HCI vendor. Better to go now. When the post VCF 9.0 cuts hit, then it will be like looking for a rental place after the LA fires. Everyone and their mother is in the market looking for a cloud job. Salary slightly better. Long term stock prospects look ok. They are now taking employees and customers from VMware with both hands.

"Omnissa directors are busy choosing the employees for the next round."

We have many marketing and sales employees who are idling without a purpose. The recruitment bar of expectations was too low, and now we're paying the price. Cut more...

To the poster that said this- ‘This site has become a cesspool of hatred.’

This site is being manipulated to distract readers from what real people are posting. Don’t you notice how the like and dislike counts are always evened out? Don't you notice the pumpers talking about how many RSU millions they are making? Don’t you notice that every thread gets an injection of absolute nonsense including divisive posts? There is a psyops underway on this site and you can bet it’s Broadcom, an agent of Broadcom, or someone that wants to manipulate the stock up or down for gain. It could also be someone that just wants to watch the world burn because some people are mentally ill.

The chain migration will be reversed all the way back to the people who came here since 1990s. There are enough native born who can code.

This site has become a cesspool of hatred.

These comments due to self loathing and feeling of inadequacy?

The so called Americans are the migrants from Europe and the real native Americans are called Indians - the sweetest irony.

Omnissa directors are busy choosing the employees for the next round. My manager says that he can't protect our 'VMware lifers 'anymore. He's more concerned about his job.

The plan for VCF PSO in the Americas is to reduce headcount ~20%-25% each quarter over a period of several quarters, and transition the majority of PS delivery to partners. Brian has been given his marching orders. I've seen the plan.

Tanzu Labs is about to be hit hard. Not sure about VCF.

Spot layoffs will continue. When VCF 9 releases that will be the end for any workers that remain. Broadcom will then fully go into ‘bleed the customers dry’ mode for the VCF division. Expect limited or no advancement in products. VCF will last as long as there are su-kers to continue paying the inflated subscription. Chips (AI focused) are the only part of Broadcom being invested in and will keep the stock price up… for now.
