They've been quietly been letting go of small batches of employees since early to mid 2024—they only announced the major wave in 2025 due to count size of it.

There is a possibility of another layoff. Each quarter they are presented with a number to achieve. And team have been consistently failing to do it. And support team unethical charge to clients is totally a sham. Moving away from preactive to active solution has considerably messed up their revenue opportunities. And the directors are making the consultants to act as a sales personal to clients. Technically, they make 1 person do 4 people's job and now adding sales to it. And with new CEO in place it is likely be business first moto just like fangs. All the remaining post and people first is a sham. I have seen lot of talented employees and I feel they are off better working for a other companies than at MA.

Let's not pretend that they're not in the 'FO' phase of the FAFO cycle. Honestly, it was bound to happen. They have been overhiring for the last 2+ years like crazy with very poor management/organization from leadership in general. Clients are becoming keen that the software suite is riddled with bugs and constantly fails during basic functions/process flows.

These layoffs probably did not need to happen though, considering the company has been seeing record breaking profits for the last few years. It's really just in line with their MO, remember how they cancelled our Christmas bonuses at the end of 2023 despite having one of its strongest years ever?

When they say 'people first' company, they really mean 'shareholders and executives first'.

Clients are also getting annoyed with having to deal with inexperienced consultants who are only a few years out of college at best, because Manhattan does nothing to incentivize retaining experienced individuals and loves college graduates because they're desperate and cheap (which is why they'll be giving someone w/ 1 YoE the responsibilities for someone who should really have 3+ YoE).

I'm not blaming the younger consultants here btw; this is definitely the fault of Manhattan for essentially bludgeoning a huge portion of their experienced staff during COVID by refusing to grant certain perks or salary increases in line with the new market rates. So many directors and managers at the company are incompetent and have little domain knowledge too...

Oh also, MANH lied about not laying anyone off during COVID. I know at least five people who got let go between 2020 and 2021.

Clients are realizing they're paying premium prices for a subpar product. Could you imagine if a product released from FAANG was as bug-ridden as Manhattan's suite, and they still claimed they were 'industry leaders' on top of it (who knows what actually factors into those Gartner ratings, lol).

Do y’all think there will be more layoffs considering stock has plummeted a lot?

These was a strategic decision form the upper management to be prepared for this year. They are having lower revenue on implementation and support. Hence, the decision was made to reduce employee count to save money and invest in other portfolios. However, the revenue trajectory is questionable since they have hit $1B first time.
