Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Job search has been a nightmare

I'm still here, doing everything I can to find another job. I've been at it for months, and it’s been an incredibly demoralizing experience. I can’t remember a time when the options were so limited, if you can even call them options. I've applied everywhere I could think of. Three interviews over six months, and none have led to an offer worth considering. I’m starting to feel like giving up and just losing my mind while I wait for the axe to fall.

I didn.t need to submit my resume to anywhere. Just turned on my status to "actively look for job" on LinkedIn. I got interview request every week from recuriter and landed a new job in 4 months. Try to polish your resume. Good Luck.
DELL is a sinking boat. Prepare the worst.

Job market has been great for me!

Market seemed to be bad in Austin for big companies. There are too many applicants for the open positions. Most big tech companies are looking to offshore and slash US roles, so it's not ideal. I recommend trying a different industry. I ended up in a smaller company in the construction world, and it's been amazing.

Agree, it has been quite the nightmare. Getting offers left and right and don't want to go back until my unemployment runs out lol.

market ebbs and flows. For some it's not so bad for others its pretty bad.
Still aplenty getting new jobs and jumping companies.
