Do we know what day they are going to put out the store executive budgets? I heard they may already be out but our stm said he didn't have them yet. Anyone heard anything? The anxiety is driving me crazy!

I would like to point out that last year when the company did do layoffs in stores of executive memebers they froze all Manager jobs that were open, to move affected people into those roles.
Not to scare anyone but those roles are again Frozen, if you go on Macy's Jobs you'll see maybe 3 in store Manager jobs. Realistically there is no way the company would only have that few in store Manager jobs open.. I personally think they'll be laying off executives next week when spring budgets are released.
I can see them combining the MBA and OOM, but not MBA with SMM. The MBA and OOM has pretty much combined/ same roles. The MBA and Smm jobs are so completely different. Wish my store manager would tell us already what’s going on, but she will not. When are they suppose to let the executives know?
In my store SMM, OOM do absolutely NOTHING, they sit behind the desk ALL DAY!! SMM has no clue on what to do everything is left to the CXM/Captain to figure out…but hey that works well for the STM thats what he hired, says much about his leadership, and the care he has for the entire store. At the end of the day if you add up STM+SMM+OOM+MBA=0 all of them do NOTHING..DVP should look closely on who they sit on that chair to run the store and business.
The budgets for executives are out. My STM had a call with our DVP. The budgets were released on 1/13. It’s just a waiting game now. May the odds be ever in your favor. #MacysHungerGames
In my store backstage manager does absolutely nothing! Captain runs the entire show.
Managers are classified as Exempt. They can take however many breaks and hours long lunches with no repercussions.
We have a manager that always comes in late and takes more sick time than most of the colleagues. I hope that manager reliability is one of the things they are looking at with the reductions. They should make managers have to clock in and out like employees, half the managers in our store barely work 35 hours a week.
For the one saying get rid of SMM and give to CXM, not sure in your store, but in my district as I am an OOM and have worked in various stores and have alot of contacts. The SMM does all the merchandising CXM does not touch a thing unless they are the backstage manager. In my store specifically the SMM does it all even helps me off load the truck and again I have many contacts in many locations and this is how we work.
They should get rid of the SMM and give the expectations to the CXM, they do it all, markdowns, truck placement, floor moves, etc…VMs and CXM should work together on getting any Visual Merchandise done of course the CXM taking care of the merchandising.
I cant see them combining MBA/SMM the jobs are very different and too much workload. It wouldn't flow properly together. I could see them combining SMM/CXM or MBA/CXM though. They need to just pull the plug and announce the changes already!
Where did you hear that ? MBA and SMM combining? There's no way. Too much work load.
Has anyone heard about SMM and MBA combining?
When are they coming out? Any Store Managers reduction/ separation?
Time to sweep the decks clean and eliminate the weak managers.
Hope that Tony starts with six-two-one.
Attrition baby. Closing stores will get dibs though.
Division leaders are still working on plans for where to move displaced executives and strategies to justify getting rid of the lowest performers and keeping the people we want to go forward. Won't be long now, sorry you are feeling anxiety. Store leaders other than store managers in the impacted stores aren't supposed to know about the budget changes yet.
