Thread regarding Canon Inc. layoffs

Best 3 Options

The best things that could happen right now is for 1.The building to close and you WFH, 2. Another layoff, or 3. Give people the option for a buyout like they did for the people that were blindsided by an early retirement package... It's pretty sad when you hear people say the happiest they are during the 3 days in the office is leaving at 5pm....Hows that for a positive work environment?

Whole company is in shambles. People are leaving in droves and company will not replace anyone so those left are getting buried under extra work. Additional in office days are just a burden of fighting traffic to sit in a cubicle so upper management can walk around glaring at everyone. Allot of management were demoted, they keep calling it a title change but dropping from director or senior manager to manager or advisor is being demoted.
Tomorrow is another all company meeting, see what fresh he-l "Sammy" has come up with. He despises the concept of work life balance, called it "American" in a tone of disdain in his 1st all company call. That's why they constantly remind everyone not to record these calls. They release a redacted version after for employees to watch that aren't allowed to join because of workload.
They need to focus on customer satisfaction before we loose all our sales.

So much for being for the environment; all the extra pollution with commuting.

The only positive Canon usa has it is the fact that’s on LI, beyond that it is the single worse managed company. Isao Kobayashi should have never been allowed to take the CEO spot.
He is a great example of what a CEO should not be, Micromanager, self-centered, Disconnected from Employees, closed minded if you disagree, lacking Vision and emotionally unstable.

How about all the additional work the remaining employees have to do because their colleagues retired and they have not been replaced yet? Then management says everyone must return to the office 3 days a week. Cool, so now we get to do more work, add more hours to our day for a commute only to sit in a cubicle to talk to other people located in different parts of the country. And then they wonder why morale is so poor? Gee, I wonder.
