I saw a show this morning featuring the CEO of a company much larger than P66.
For part of the show the CEO was shown dressed in jeans and a sweater just walking around and chatting with random employees about various subjects. It appeared to be some kind of employee meeting.
Phillips 66 could do this instead of hosting town halls where the speakers are unapproachable and the questions are taken from pre-picked employees.

Gogo kind of did this at a Corporate Communications Conference recently.
He talked to a few employees and then left.
He was obviously just going through the motions. No one was fooled.
They are more approachable to external firms . Do not expect old charm. Go Go is trying to save his seat he prefers dinners with external firms that suggested employee cuts and secured hefty amounts. Rest of the ELT is so fake and insecure they have their own agenda.
Im going to agree with the original poster. The difficult gap is created by the C suite - it’s simple to change, with just a little effort by them. We don’t need suits and ties, which in an informal company meeting creates us and them - that’s easy. Then, you make the time, and show some interest.
The company party behind the Adams building was just such an event, with the leadership there specifically to mingle and talk. That event, unlike many before, was exactly what the poster describes.
It takes time to change perception and bring down barriers. It takes time to feel comfortable and build better rapport, but that event is the model. More time in jeans, without an agenda and a plane to catch.
