I thought that the layoff would be the end of the world for me, but now that the emotions have calmed down a bit, I feel a great relief..

Last time we trained we only got to stay 2 weeks. Was nice getting out of the country though
If you are asked to go to India to train your replacement and can afford being gone for a month, take it. They are usually open to an extended layover on the return trip.
Still standing, I was hoping layoffs go into another week, but they seem to of slowed down. Too bad, a few months of severance would have been nice. More time with the family and be able to catch my breath from the stress this place has added.
Head up, everyone. We know more are on their way before the holidays.
No. Unless you have been at CDK for at least 5(?) years, you only get what they owe you, what the WARN Act would require, and whatever state and local laws for your physical location would require them to give you.
Because CDK has a policy of "unlimited" vacation, there is no official bank of vacation pay to cash in, either. Knowing this, you better take as much vacation as you can possibly pull if you're still at CDK.
Not everyone gets a severance?
It is a relief.
I feel the same way. Was kind of hoping to get laid off. Severance would have been nice but it's not worth staying here any longer.
Only thing that would have made my week better last week would have been being laid off, as the decision would have been made for me.
Either way, I'm still looking for a more secure job.
Good luck in your future adventures. May they be equitable and successful!
