Thread regarding Optum layoffs

MA and VBID, what issss the deal?

Value based insurance design in Medicare Advantage discontinued after 2025. Over 7 million members will be negatively affected, but that probably means UHG employees will be safe, right? Otherwise I would have seen layoff speculations for any departments here that deal with MA plans, HCC codes, yadda, yadda, yadda on this forum.

Goodness people. CMS is not doing away with Medicare advantage plans. They are just not contracting for value based initiatives which means they’re not going to give them added money based on clinical outcomes slow down and stop creating chaos where there is none.

It is the benefits they can offer that is being impacted. So it is possible that some portions of the benefits or what the plans unique enrollee make up contains. Not the end of the world.
