In another indication of the ongoing downturn in the agricultural economy, Bridgestone Americas Inc. is offering buyouts at the company’s Bridgestone-Firestone agricultural tire plant in Des Moines.
Bridgestone notified United Steel Workers Local 310L on Monday that it would make the voluntary separation offers for up to 130 employees “due to ongoing demand constraints in the agriculture tire sector.”
