ANS is application network security
Remote workers are fine till vcf 9 release
Hock says jump, and the correct answer is yes, to what city ?
Does anyone know of any manager that predicted something and it actually happened? Fakking iditos. I have seen at least 5% of the shiiittt here that came true. Or at least was put here immediately after it happened.
The managers don't know shiiitttt. Just ignore them. All personnel decisions are not done in the VMware mgmt chain. It come from above. No one in VMware knows shiitttt. The VMware mgmt just has to deal with the shiittt that remains after each cut.
Hock Tua apparently said he loves all the remaining employees? Or did he mean only the employees who are not remote? whatever. Hock might be on a high after selling another gazillion options.
Original poster here. I’m should have stated I am asking about VCF division.
What is ANS?
I haven't gotten any offers or heard any rumors about our organization. Maybe this is related to specific products or divisions? Who is paying for relocation or on my own? I might live inside a Uhaul truck from Monday to Friday, then drive hours back home.
A lot of stupid useless answers here.
I talked with someone from ANS tech doc team. This person was given a RTO letter to relocate or be layed off. They chose layoff. Their official end date is Jan 17th. They didn’t have any details on what severance package is.
I’m in the same boat because I’m also in ANS as a remote employee. I haven’t received the letter yet, but my higher ups have been pressuring me to relocate. I decided to not relocate, and they know that, and so now it’s a matter of time until HR sends me an official letter of RTO. I doubt they would make an exception for me since I’m not even a senior IC.
So to answer op question, yes there is severance offered if you decide to not relocate
My manager was forced to relocate to Broomfield office
No, all US remote workers are fine.
Remote workers are not being given the option to go to an office. They are just being terminated. RTO is nothing more than an excuse to reduce headcount. Those in an office better not get too comfortable, the axe man will come for them soon.
One person I know received a “separation” package when he declined to go to the office (that was a 2 hour drive away) early last year. I don’t know if recent letters are similar.
I am aware that it has happened and will continue to happen. The question was about severance packages if they refused remote worker does not comply.
It’s happened already and will continue to happen.
