Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

#781 Haywood Mall? Suggested for closure? What has happened down there? I used to work at that location. It used to be a $26M box with a flagship Belk and Dillard’s. I know the economy in Greenville is growing but leave it to Macy’s to not know the pulse of their customer down in the Upstate.

Now the Columbia Place store should have been put out to pasture a long time ago since the company was so he-l bent staying in a dead mall just to save costs.

More than 10% of the locations closing are furniture galleries; nine out of the 66.

I think Haywood Mall in Greenville, SC will close in the next round.

Really quite amazing to see Macys close all the Free Standing Backstage stores and small format “Market by Macy’s”. Truly a rudderless ship.

Tony Spring putting an emphasis on luxury yet in Q3 earnings call CFO Adrian Mitchell acknowledges a “more value conscious customer”. Seems strategy is not in line with reality.

By reading the list of stores closing, I'm surprise that the company is closing Market by Macy's stores too. I thought those stores was the future for the company. Also the company is closing backstage stores too.
