Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

4/3 PIP

are people with a 4/3 and on a pip, eligible for internal mobility. I would imagine it would be hard if a hiring manager asks for a rating.. but curious as a matter of policy, is internal mobility allowed.

Anyone placed on a PIP instead of being laid off as part of the 1Q layoffs? How many years of service?

If you can't figure this out it explains why you may be on a PIP.

Not if you are on a PIP. Read the FAQ

You can challenge the rating through HR. Be prepared with details and if your manager had prior conversations with you on performance. The process takes some time but if raised to a 3 at least you can try to post out.

Post ID: @b0+1jh5m7j2p I forgot to add that if you're Fired because you Failed the PIP which is a 90% probability according to management research, you may be flagged by the company as Fired For Cause or Fired Not for Cause.
Getting Fired because you failed the PIP is work performance related. In the Insurance Industry, if you get Fired for anything, they black-ball you, flagged as Fired For Cause and can No longer apply for jobs at that insurance company.

This is antiquated and unduly harsh since the Fired For Cause Label is generally reserved for criminal activities (A$$ault, Stealing, Harassment, etc.).
Even most banks and finance-related companies do Not flag performance related Firings as "For Cause". But then insurance companies are even more stone-age, have antiquated policies, behind the times and out-of -touch than the banks, including their technology.

If you got a 4 then you should be looking for a new job like your life depends on it. You have already been selected for RIF, just a matter of when

Post ID: @a5+1jh5m7j2p Fired and Laidoff are related but NOT the same thing. Most employees Foolishly do Not know the difference. It's in Employees' best interest to know and understand the difference for their Careers' and Life's sake!

This is like a Venn Diagram. Think of Getting Fired/Being Fired as the General Umbrella of Termination (which itself is another way of saying "Fired").
Fired=Termination
Subsets:
Not For Cause Sub-Subsets:
Layoff/Laidoff (includes RIFs and mini-Layoffs)

For Cause Sub-Subsets:
As--ult/Stealing/Harassment etc.

Firings that may or may Not be categorized under Not For Cause or For Cause:
Bad work performance (depends on the Employer. Some companies (e.g. Insurance Industry) box or place Firings because of Bad work performance under For Cause, while others do Not.)
We all know that most or some Layoffs are actually Firings due to Bad work performance. We've definitely seen this done @Citi, I know I have. At least the employees get a severance package.
Also, whether you're Laidoff or Fired, by Law the Employer Must pay you for your unused Vacation Days.

You should fight it out for 4/3. Or you will be out

No, and chances are, if you're on a PIP, there's a good chance of you being let go, unfortunately. It happened to me at another bank.

Answer is no - you can't move with a 4 rating (which is why intelligent managers try to manage you out or let you know it isn't working out and give you time to find something else).

You can come back from a PIP but it's rare

Does being on a PIP mean 90% fired or 90% fired/layoff ?

In most companies the answer is No.
To be sure, Ask your HR point of contact. The name will show in the Global Directory below your name.
If the answer is definitely No, start searching for a new external job.
PIPs are designed to set employees up to fail so that the Employer can frame, justify and make a case for Firings.
The statistics are: 90% of employees who are on a PIP will get Fired because of the PIP. Stated another way, you only have a 10% chance of beating the PIP !
