Time to quiet quit

My recommendation is to aim for quiet quitting.

This, exactly! Don't give them the satisfaction of quitting over RTO. They want to get rid of as many of us as they can without paying us severance. Google it, there is more than one article on how companies have been using RTO for this exact purpose. Just quiet quit. If they lay you off or fire you in the end, so be it. You were going to leave anyhow. At least you'll have either severance or unemployment. If you quit, you get nothing and they get everything.

You do just enough to not get fired. Stop carrying your teams. Stop shoring up the worthless DEI team Lead by doing their work for them because they can't. Stop saving the teams.

The job market is really bad right now. Just go to work, like everyone else is starting to. Covid is over, and life goes back to normal. We (humans) were all going to work 5 or 6 days per week for generations so it's time to continue else AI will have no problem taking over your job. And AI works 24/7 and doesn't complain or even think about quitting. It wants more data to feed it, so it can learn and grow on it's own until it replaces you.

This will only fly until the job market turns around. Wait 6 months and let's see how many people have left for a better job elsewhere. It may take more than a year for job market to pick up, but do not loose faith. It will happen and then then they will be begging for tech people again.

Quiet quitting that results in termination for cause as in violation of company policy will not net you severance and could even result in challenging a UI claim.
