Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

Layoffs

My department has recently partook in “business continuity” planning, they are basically having us put together a training book on how to do our jobs, anyone else think this will just be used to train our replacements overseas?

If your job can be done by offshore this easily it’s time to find a new profession. I’d recommend going for a certification or an advanced degree.

The consultants always lie when they're doing activities like this. Like for last layoff they were pretending like they were doing reorganization of hierarchies and roles.

Lack of headcount supporting initiatives is the reason for this???? They don't have money to invest in headcount but have a lot of money to throw at expensive consultants... and outsourced vendors?? The management should come out and say things honestly without playing these games.

So this has NOTHING to do with layoffs?

Every department has to do it now, due to the lack of head count supporting different initiatives

Same here. Outrageous - as if we don't see through this.

Finance has been doing this for 2 months now, we all think it’s strange too. Framing it as “what if a hurricane happens again” but in reality it’s having us train our replacements.
