Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

Impossible to contact

So, I was laid off back in August. I applied for unemployment in my state. It was going fine until I got a notice of appointment with the unemployment department to verify my unemployment. Turns out, they got no reply from Nielsen when they mailed them to verify my employment. I gave them the updated address. Fast forward two months, same issue again (I have another appointment with unemployment).

To be proactive, I tried contacting Nielsen. I emailed the people experience email (where I got my layoff notice docs, etc.), but no answer. I tried high and low to find a phone number to contact them - nothing. I found the number for the main office in NY, but it just puts you to voicemail or asks you for an extension (but no menu to tell you what department is what extension).

This is ridiculous. Same with Gracenote. Impossible to find a contact number.

Anyone have any idea who to contact payroll or HR? I hate to have it come to it, but if I have to sue them, I will. You can't gaslight former employees. What a joke this place has become.

Curious. Does your state unemployment agency need to hear from them to verify your employment? That info should already be accessible to then through some tax database, no? I thought that the employer just has 14 days to contest your claim if they feel you’re not entitled, ie fired. If the unemployment office doesn’t hear back, that should be the end of it. I just filed so I’m waiting to see what they do.

OP here. Thanks for all the responses. I just spoke with Unemployment today. I gave them the New York address a couple months ago, but they've received no response. I gave the Oldsmar address today, although based on another post I see it has issues as well. Thanks to whomever posted the 800 number. Duly noted and will give it a shot if they contact me again. What a joke Nielsen has become. SMH.

I had supplied an Oldsmar, FL address (from my paystubs, IIRC), but California EDD said that mail to that address was returned.

I reached out to my HR contact, and was told to use

675 Avenue of the Americas, New York NY 10010

California EDD released a payment after I gave them this address, but I'm sure they didn't have time to use the NY, NY address yet. We'll see if they hold things up again.

Very nice how they give an out of service phone number for contact on paystubs. No class / lazy.

Your issue is that Nielsen has offshored everything. Anyone who is left is either new or in India.

Nielsen clients keep contacting me with the same complaint - no one is answering them. And some were potential clients. How sad.

Nielsen’s corporate headquarters is located at 675 6th Ave, New York, NY 10010
Did you use that address?

It's great that this website was something they always feared. I hope a lot more people end up seeing this as I've also tried every phone number I can find and even tried the "Contact Us" link on the main website but so far nothing useful.
