Find another job you id--t!
Don't bother waiting for the severance, just find your next job. If you get laid off before you find the next job, at least you will already have a head start on your job search.
It could be years before they eventually get around to you. But the layoff will always be hanging over your head. Better to get out from that uncertainty.
Get the RIF and find another j o b. Duh
Either RTO, get laid off, or find another job. The options are clear.
