Took me number of years to come on here and discuss reinvent. It’ll be 4 years at the end of this month that I was let go under dubious circumstances by a set of terrible managers driven by self interest and conflicts. I decided to come on here now as I see bp is going to go through yet another head count cull disguised as strategy and efficiency. I wanted to make it clear to people that if you have any managerial issues and have been targeted with negative feedback etc then you now have to go look for a new job and get yourself an attorney. I wish everyone the best, and please understand just how traumatic this process will be. Don’t be silent. Reach out and discuss.

I was replying to this message:
It’s very stressful and advice is if your not female……
You’re = you are
Your = possessive.
If you are implying that “if you’re a white male” is grammatically incorrect, I hate to inform you that YOU are wrong.
aka you’re wrong
Not your wrong.
To the person below who doesn’t know the difference between ‘your’ and ‘you’re’ - perhaps you’re not so valuable to the company as you think you are?
bP has had so many truly great leaders that the company is worth 1/3 of what it was worht 20 years ago
Great leaders? Name some! Talent in bp is so mediocre that it does not take much to stick out
no great leaders in bP that is for sure
I’m so over this conversation. I know many great leaders who are women, POC, etc. If you’re a white man who feels victimized by other people being successful, my advice is to try being slightly less mediocre.
Layoffs are coming for sure. Exxon doing their usual, Chevron cutting 20%, Shell cutting 10%. We will need to respond.
To the OPs point - we’ve all been through this now many times and it’s the same people who do well out of these events and there are obvious reasons for that. Still trying to be the ESG shining lights. It’s very stressful and advice is if your not female or ‘diverse’ and are a SLL then you’ll be gone.
Bp will tell you that their processes are fully transparent and no individuals had any specific opinion on if you should be retained or let go. That being said - at no point will they give you any information about who participate in your selection discussions or what was said or written about you. You have rights to that information
That’s Interesting advice. I recently saw that an employment attorney viewed my LinkedIn page. I wonder if they are checking if people have been let go.
