Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Modem & RF leadership roles, Redundant Sr. STAFF, PRINCIPALs, DIRECTORs (CE DEV TAM PDM PM)

Most of the Modem UL, LL & RF leads, especially Sr Staff and above seem to be enjoying paid retirement in QC. Rather than providing solutions, they consistently ask questions without understanding the fundamental concepts, often failing to answer even simple queries posed to them. Their approach to problem-solving seems to rely solely on asking hypothetical questions rather than actively engaging with and resolving real issues. Rather than seeking clarity through effective communication, they often create confusion and frustration.

Does QC ecosystem needs these many leaders in Modem & RF, Modem PE, CE PE, Overall PE, chipset PE, Customer PE, dev PE .... what's this nonsense, quest is , where is management to look after them !!

"There is are a lot of seagull management done at Qcom. Seagull management is a management style where a manager only interacts with employees when they suspect a problem, and then only to make hasty decisions and leave the employees to deal with the consequences. They fly in, sh%t all over the place, then fly away!"

Thumbs up. Most cannot do the work on their own but get paid much more.
They are frauds. That may work in Burger King but IT DOES NOT WORK IN SCIENCE OR ENGINEERING.

@at+1jh0gptr7: You summed it perfectly! I worked in 2 different teams. Both places, all I had was seagull managers.

Modem is a hard discipline. This is particularly true for modem systems. As a matter of fact, the most cost-effective modem systems engineers are senior staff and principal engineers.

Seagull management cant for the ethnicity that represents most of Q. They just hide the problems so the seagul will never find out.
