Heard they gonna revamp the reward points system? Another failure initiative?

Without points, it seems no one is interested in writing the appreciation messages on the board now. Check it out
Recognition programs are always doomed from the start due to misuse or lack of use.
Yes - it has value and is a functional way to recognize others. Accrue points and buy something you want!
But whether cost savings, folks gratuitously recognizing their buddies, or marketers nominating themselves, they are doomed to fail.
Or it’s a five year old program that has run its course and it’s time for a change. It doesn’t sound as nefarious as all the other things posted here, but it’s probably closer to reality.
yes, us peasants did exchange most of the points between each other to help grab a voucher for our weekly shop , but we did recognize good deeds with some points, it was a little something we looked forward to each January, after the service dinners were cancelled, it was our only incentive, now it's nothing, i do hope the six new VP'S and Directors are happy with thier Half a million dollar salaries
Just look at the Board... is anyone still appreciating now that there is no point system?
The program was not a joke, definitely not. It was a small but tangible way to acknowledge someone' s contribution.
Also it had middle management oversight and I very much doubt if it was widely abused or meant nothing !
The program is a joke, most people just send points to their friends for no reason. People that actually deserve the recognition get nothing more often than not. I’m actually surprised it made it as long as it did.
Well, now that we've cut all the middle managers out, who is left that we can trust to properly appreciate the employees?
Obviously, the unwashed masses are beneath the notice of directors and above, and the peons are too generous with their recognition, so there's no reason to have a recognition program anymore.
Not a fan of popularity contests. Reward people something of value for their actual work.
"eCards without point values will continue to be available so that you can recognize and appreciate your colleagues' contributions and achievements as well as to celebrate anniversaries, holidays and birthdays"...
LOL let's see how many would really do it
It was a poorly designed recognition in the first place. Employees are dishing out 50pts and 100pts to each other with no meaningful appreciations.. what another HR failure program.
I am sure you peons understand. It’s cutting into the billion dollar quarterly profit and some people might not make bonus.
They are going to mandate RTO pretty soon and see how many going to resign. If number is not large enough then another layoff at the end of Q1. These millioners are too predictable.
Bill wants somewhere from 5 to 10k to walk away with no severance over the next two years while he positions 3M to either be spun off in pieces like HC or be merged into a JV that will be spun off.
He takes his cues from Wall Street. Just a quick perusal of the 35 percent approval rating from employees that he got from his last CEO job proves that.
He's replacing Minnesota Nice with Minnesota Nasty while hanging out most of the month in Florida. Anyone working at 3M Center can confirm that. Tireman is our landlord these days.
Yup, from now on no more 50 or 100 points to go along with e cards.
Just empty pat on the back.
What a sure shot way of motivating employees to start the new year!
Great job BB and his team.
Take away the breadcrumbs from worker bees while our executives sit on million $ bonuses. Setting a fine example indeed. God Bless !!!
Just one more incentive that BB and team are taking away. "Operational efficiency" is the go-to buzz words meaning the program will be terminated to save the company even more money.
Maybe give full time hours and AIP and LTI and stop with the 50 points
