Jesus Christ, work from home and stop taking out the entire work force. Managers should shame people into going home. I don’t know what kind of culture it is where you expect to be praised for coming to working and coughing your phlegm on everyone acting like you’re a great employee for exposing everyone to your illness. Literally no one cares and now that you can work four weeks from home, there is literally no excuse. Selfish id--ts.

My boss gives us an "occurrence" if we call in. Insanity. I can't even get sick now.
I cough because of my cancer treatment, maybe stop making assumptions and mind your business
Isn't this a good question for McKinsey Rick - he is now the fearless leader! Maybe send him and email
i do it all the time
I just like to spread the joy I mean germs especially during the holidays.
The question should be why people don’t take days when healthy.
Watched hundreds leave the company with thousands of sick hours.
It’s because we are forced to take a sick day. But if we want to work from home since there’s tons of work and we can power through the sickness, then we’re dinged for it. And if it’s a day that happens to be our day in the office, then if we telecommute instead of badge swiping, we’re on a list!
Why do people still show up to the office? That's the question. Anyone going in sick, make sure to sneeze, cough, etc onto any upper management you can get near. Extra points for the executive council.
Because the U.S. and corporations still support toxic work culture like working while sick.
Unfortunately many different departments are inflexible with sick time, many employees simply just don't want an "occurrence." I fully sympathize with people with outstanding health issues, my own pregnant wife had this issue earlier in the year and my request for a WFH exception was spat on. Before RTO, I called out sick 2 times in 4 years. This is yet another side effect of the "collaborative culture" we have suffered through for a full year now. This isn't changing and will only get worse. I hope everyone is able to get out and find something better, for you and your families.
Same I have a family member with a compromised immune system and I’m in the same boat as the last poster. Any sickness means hospital stay. Thanks je-ks and Schwab leadership
“ LOL OP is a germaphobe. Bet OP still wears a mask too.”
My wife’s immune system is compromised
due to her receiving chemotherapy currently. Getting even a common cold is basically an ER event right now.
So excuse me if I don’t really want to ki-l her by being a carrier for your bullsh-t illness that you could’ve stayed home with for a couple more days until you weren’t contagious. A--hole.
It’s 2025 and thankfully we live in a country that is not scared of another pandemic. And thankfully in a few weeks we will have a government that is fully supportive of the Bird flu!! Ebola! If things go right -possibly Polio and Measles will make a comeback too.
If we learned one thing from Covid, it’s that we can’t live in fear like the mask wearing germaphobes (as previously mentioned). The most important thing is the culture of corporate America with everyone being back in the office, five days a week.
If you’re fighting a mild case of Ebola, senior leadership wants to see you in the office bleeding from your eyes. If you don’t like it find a new job!
LOL OP is a germaphobe. Bet OP still wears a mask too.
I do it beause I don't give a .... Narcisim.
Because you need to get a doctor involved if you’re out for more than three days on sick leave and then Sedgwick or whomever if longer than that.
Many times it’s just allergies and not an illness.
And since our beloved leaders don’t believe in WFH…
Lol, to be fair, this isn't a Schwab-specific toxic/layoff-related topic, but I feel your pain!
There was another company I worked in the past where I shared a cubicle with a guy that would constantly sniffle the sn-t back up to his nose all day, every day, instead of just giving it one good blow to get everything out. Then, because it eventually kept sliding to the back of his throat, whenever he would cough, it was always the most juiciest, bubbly, phlegmy cough. The absolute worst!!
Good luck, hope you don't get sick!
