Thread regarding Blackbaud Inc. layoffs

Anyone else incredibly anxious about layoffs soon?

Couple of reasons:

  1. India and all of the accelerated hiring that started in the final half of 2024. Also name a single company that mass hired in India and DIDN'T have layoffs later on? Don't think you can.
  1. No layoff in awhile when traditionally there were frequently, I think that they've been wanting to trim further but had to wait it out in fear of employee backlash due to frequency.
  1. Asking us to put in PTO for the remainder of the year back at the end of 2024. Said something about ensuring minimum staffing levels for the holidays but I feel like this was just to get a more accurate forecast on potential unused PTO payout.
  1. Small trimming happening silently (according to posts here), getting rid of EVERFI.

Anything else?

I just saw a Professional Services Manager say they were restructured out of a job. Is it already happening? Is anyone left in services?

It’s natural to feel concerned about the future, I think and many of us share similar anxieties. While the situation may feel out of our control, focusing on what you can control—like staying positive, continuing to deliver great work, leaning on your colleagues for support, but most importantly figuring out your own exit strategy —can help ease some of the stress. Remember, your contributions are valued, and your skills are an asset not just here, but anywhere. The ELT has run this place into to the ground (stock is down 5% to over the last 5 years during an unprecedented bull market is just one example) so control what you can control, and don’t expect the ELT at large to do the right thing. Plan to GTFO of here.
